Scouts will learn about different disabilities and how people live with them by earning the Disabilities Awareness Merit Badge. Scouts will define and discuss disabilities awareness terms like disability, accessibility, adaptation, accommodation, invisible disability, person first language, and inclusion. Scouts will also explain why proper disability etiquette is important, how it may differ depending on the specific disability, and talk to another Scout with a disability to learn more about their lives. This merit badge pamphlet lists all the information and requirements to earn the Disabilities Awareness merit badge.
