The Scouts BSA First Class Emblem recognizes Scouts who successfully completed the First Class Scout requirements. It is the fourth of 7 possible ranks in Scouts BSA. A Scout earns First Class after earning the first three Scouts BSA ranks: Second Class, Tenderfoot, and Scout. The ranks for Tenderfoot, Second Class, and First Class cover skills in camping, hiking, cooking, first aid, nature, fitness, aquatics, citizenship, and leadership. Scouts will have completed the fifth grade and are at least ten years old or are at least 11 years old or have earned the Arrow of Light Award and are at least ten years old. Participants may continue to work on Scouting advancement until reaching their 18th birthday. This uniform patch measures 2'' x 2 1/2'' and may be worn on the official Scouts BSA uniform.
